Why All Set Cyber?

Mission: Empower anyone to protect their identity online through accessible, holistic, transparent, and private resources and support.

Hi, I’m Mike! I’m the Founder & CEO of All Set Cybersecurity. Think of me like an accountant, except I’m your expert resource on cybersecurity instead of taxes.

  • My help is focused and free of technical jargon that makes cybersecurity feel out of reach for so many. I believe you shouldn't need a PhD or a tech-savvy friend to know how to be safe online!

  • Password managers, identity monitors, device manufacturers, and the apps and websites you have accounts with can all offer you privacy and security support, but only over their individual domains. I can be the one-stop-shop to help you understand how all of these things overlap!

  • You won't find any needless scare tactics here! I cite credible sources to help you make rational decisions. I’ll also never promise that our advice leads to your 100% guaranteed protection - anyone who does (no matter how much they try to charge you) is lying!

  • I’ll only ever ask for the minimal info I need to help you - your email address. Other providers ironically ask for your social security number, financial account numbers, and passwords to help keep you safe!

Welcome to the FREE All Set Cybersecurity Checklist!

Whether you’re ready to improve your online security and privacy all by yourself or you’re going to need a helping hand, we’re here for you!

  • Step 1: Review Exposed Data

Most websites store your name, email, password (and secret answers/hints), addresses, phone number, credit card, and birthdate - just to name a few. Now think of what your bank and doctors keep on file! Companies can’t always keep your data safe from cybercriminals, but you can know when they don’t.

  • Step 2: Freeze Credit Reports

Credit reports are a useful tool for you to see an overview of every credit account in your name. You can freeze and temporarily unfreeze these reports (for free!) to assure that no one else can apply for a credit card, mortgage, or loan using your social security number and personal information. Learn more.

  • Step 3: Set Up a Password Manager

It is time to make your passwords more secure. While your dog’s name plus your birthdate is easy to remember, when used over and over, it further exposes you to cybercrime. A password manager can help you generate - and securely use - strong and unique passwords for all of your accounts.

  • Step 4: Enable Two Factor Authentication

Even if a cybercriminal knows your password, enabling a secondary means of authentication (e.g. a code sent to your email) means that they would still be locked out. Plus, you would be alerted that the attempt was made!

  • Step 5: Get an IRS Identity Protection PIN

Tax season is stressful enough as it is without tax-related cybercrime to worry about! Learn about the fast and easy process that would hinder an identity thief from filing a tax return in your name and collecting your tax refund!

  • Step 6: Configure Financial Account Alerts

Most of your most important accounts (banking, credit cards, email, etc.) have features that alert you to suspicious activity. However, these features are not always automatically enabled and can be difficult to find.

  • Step 7: Secure Internet Devices

Your phone, computer, tablet, WiFi modem, and your smart home devices are risks to your online privacy and security. Think of how scary it would be if a cybercriminal had access to your smart doorbell! It’s important to configure all of these technologies with the right settings.

  • Step 8: Restrict Privacy Settings

It's best to limit what you share on social media to only your friends and family, and the permissions you grant to apps to only what’s necessary. The personal information you share is a goldmine for identity cybercriminals and data brokers - keep it out of their hands and safely in yours!

  • Step 9: Spot Suspicious Messages

Phishing messages are a method for cybercriminals to deceive you out of your personal information and money, and to access your devices and accounts. I can help you review messages you’re unsure about and help you develop good phishing defense habits to keep you safe.
